The camera clearly has these operations, as you can use them to explore your scene. It would be cool if these were exposed to make camera animation easier and not requiring imported camera rigs.
For example, a turn-table orbit of 0,0,0 is possible with manual camera controls, but those settings are not exposed to use for animation.
Particularly, I have 3 planets which are too complex to animate the surface itself, so orbiting it would allow me a fake rotation without the shaders going nuts. I still haven't figured out how to do a orbit camera rig in blender.
