I don't think this is impressive at all.
It looks like a picture of a face mapped on a simple model.
I'm sorry.... but I've seen a lot better then this which is completly 3D.

It's the photo texture that makes it look realistic. The lighting is static and all included in the texture. If you were to change the lighting the realism would go out the window. So I agree, this is interesting and kind of cool, but not all that impressive from a Computer Graphics Artistry standpoint.
