Title: Y-Oriented vs. normal-oriented heighmaps
Post by: PeanutMocha on February 15, 2010, 11:06:03 PM
I just ran a test with a 100x100 pixel solid grey heighmap, but specified the georeference to be (10,0) (10,10) (0,10) (0,0).  It looks like the heightmap creates a Y-directed feature rather than a normal-directed feature (image attached).  I recall reading about this issue earlier in the forums but can't locate that post.

Is it planned to support normal-directed heighmaps so that one could e.g. create a heightmap covering large areas of the planet surface?  If so, is there an approximate timeframe?

Try turning off "Flatten Surface First" in the heightfield shader.
