Title: Island Fly Through.
Post by: MGebhart on May 07, 2010, 10:23:21 AM
I'm not sure I'll find the time to finish this but, I'll give it a try.

Interesting concept with lots of potential :)
What are you planning besides a fly through?
For starters I'd make the clouds a bit thicker and more fluffy/less dense.
And is that a WM-generated terrain?

Hi Martin,

I'm not clear where the ending will finish. Hopefully, an interesting view with custom objects.

The terrain was created in GeoControl2.

Sounds good :)
I'm not familiar with GC2, can/did you save the masks from the erosion or other filters? The might be very useful in terms of realistic surfacing and masking for populations etc.

Yes on the saving.

I sure hope I can see this project to the end. It should be a lot of fun.

Ghehe, thanks for the link :) I know GC2 already of course, I just meant I never used it before and thus didn't know about the possibility for exporting masks etc.
I too hope you can finish this project. You still have plenty of time and you're pretty comfortable and fast with TG2, so *if you have enough time* ;) then I see no problem :)

Preliminary surface shader and tree populations

Preliminary camera path setup.

Boy, this is going to take some dedication.
