Title: A Pool Of Functions
Post by: Mr_Lamppost on July 27, 2008, 12:02:33 PM
This has been on Ashundar for a few days now but I thought I’d post it here as well as I am just about to add the functions for the ripples to the Water Library:

The image started out as an experiment with some basic functions but I liked where it went so expanded on the idea replacing the TG waves with a reworking of POV-Ray’s ripples normal pattern, Masking the grass population to the troughs was a bit tricky. The grass is:
TerrAde’s dunegrass – http://www.ashundar.com/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item270
and the water is pink for no adequately explained reason.

Cool work.  This is fun and will be interesting to understand how you got here.  I seem to remember you know functions fairly well.

I have added a clip for the ripples to the water library.

I’ve got a couple of function related explanations to write up when I get the chance, these wavy ridges would make a good example, I’ll add them to the list.  ::) ;D
