reverse rendering not working

In a thread a while back (looked for it, cant find it) I asked if there was a posibility to use a very much simplified render farm manager, something that would eficiently utilise the power of a couple of computers. The issue being not wanting to waste render cycles because of having differing spec on the computers and differing times on rendering frames. Someone, I think it was Oshyan or Jo, suggested a solution of simple rendering backwards on the second computer, ie starting at say frame 300 (sequence first) and ending at frame 1 (sequence last). This would have optemised the render usage and the two computers would simply meet somewhere in the middle, the first rendering frames 1 > 200 say and the seccond rendering frames 300 > 201 for example.

A great idea but unfortunately it dose not work.
Was this ever a feature ?
"Should" it work?
And is it planned for the future?

why? It works for me.
I.E start with frame ten, end at frame one, step -1

Just tested it, it works :)

Theoretically it could be nice to have terragen detect if end < begining => make step negative....
