Live messenger forced update not working -> solution
August 26, 2009, 12:57:44 PM
Hi,
I just wanted to log in to my messenger and I was notified of a forced update.
The installer(s) didn't work because I use XP64 (weirddd reason).
The error it gave was: os_check: 0x80280004
Googling for the solution showed a burst of this problem since last night.
So for everyone with the same problem, here are 2 solutions:

Annoying issue. I wonder if you can install and use it, why would they not support it? Maybe there's a secret 2 bit version...

Yeah, I installed XP 64 three months ago and had to do a trick to install it... Then yesterday I had this forced update that I cannot install -_-
Anyway, switching to Windows 7 in a week, thanks to MSDNAA
