Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Looks nice.
I would try to change the wood texture of the fence(?).

Agree with Kadri..............change the fence texture and maybe make your leaves less dense. Go Jayhawks............. ;)

Lady of the Lake

I will see about working on both of those things.  Thanks.   BTW, won't have much time in the next few days........I will have Final Four fever.  Go Jayhawks for sure!!!!

Fence is DandelO's...forgot to say that.  I think he offered it in one of his image posts or in File sharing.  I kind of "demolished" it by running it into the ground.  :-)

Very nice for sure, but also agree on the fence.

This is a very very very nice render!  :)
I think the leaves density is ok.
If you show the fence texture file, perhaps me or someone else could help you. Is the fence a free object?

The fence was made by DandelO.      If you do a search under Wooden Gate it pops right up.

What is it that you don't like about the fence.....not weathered enough (rough) or the color or what?  The attached photo was what I was looking at and I got as close as I could with my limited skills.  Probably the fence boards are better than the post.  Let me try and then I will take you up on the help, okay?  Thanks.

Great image! It has a very warm summer feeling.
Somehow I agree about the fence, although it's not much different from the reference photo you posted. It looks sort of a little bit too clean and perfect. Sometimes you see something real and you think, if this would be a render, there would be lots of people complaining...
So maybe just try out some other textures. Sometimes it works. You could also displace the fence a little bit to create some subtle imperfection?

A lot to like about this image. Simply looks warm and inviting  :)
Agree with comments about fence. Most fences have small bends, bows, buckles and bumps.  If you have access to a modeling program perhaps you could warp them a tiny bit?

Tonight I played a bit with the fence from DandelO.
I think you only need to change a minimum:
You could load a texture image into the metal shader and deactivate its reflection shader.

I was astonished to see that the wood texture is done with warped surface shaders. I was not brave enough to play with this ::) :)

But anyway the wood looked ok in my tests. Perhaps with a little movement or rotation of the fence you get deeper shadows in the wood and a (perhaps rusty) metal texture on the metal parts makes it perfect. There are many free textures in the web.

This a very good render.  I agree about the fence. The leaves on the ground are fine but the trees/bushes - perhaps more variety of types?

Looks good, fence is the only draw back. Did u scale it up alot? That will stretch out the maps which could be the issue. Try forced displacement that alone does wonders. Good render either way

I like the scene a lot too. It is simple but very reminiscent. If I were out with my camera I would never of thought to take a picture, but as soon as I saw someone else's photo, I would have regretted it. There have been a few images like this over the months that have had that effect. Quite fun for me.

After reading the posts and looking at the image, I agree about the texture. the texture is the only issue. The fence it self really defines the scale, and comp, so it works really well. But the texture does need a higher quality image or PF. IMO
It has been eaten.
