Sculptured terraces
Set in stone like promises
Today will soon be gone.

Scene incorporates an image map projected cylindrically.
I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

The layers remind me of an image I did some years ago with TG 0.9. Nice! :)

Confucius say valley not as deep as one's will to cross it.  Wait - he was Chinese.  Haiku is Japanese.  Eh - I get confused.  But an interesting terrain to say the least.  I try to avoid the strata / outcrops shader due to the overly redundant and regular layers it produces.  Looks like you may have a couple at work here, so it breaks it up nicely.
They're all wasted!

Thanks guys.
Rich, I didn't use the Strata & Outcrops shader. The terracing/strata is defined by the greyscale image map shader placed in the displacement part of a surface shader, and using cylindrical projection in the image map shader. I've uploaded my tgd for this scene along with compressed versions of the colour and displacement images I used so you can see what's going on. As you'll see, in terms of the number of shaders used, it's a very simple scene.
I've also noticed that I have one too many syllables in the last line of my haiku. . . . . bother!
