Alien skies in TG1 vs. TG2

Here's a tricky thing. I've pulled off some really amazing dreamy skies in Terragen 1, everything from pastel pink to stormy green to smog yellow. but in Terragen 2, I am unable to get almost none of the precision I could get in Terragen 1. The fact that sky blue and red decay hues, brightnesses, and saturation are all interconnected, it seems great for generic realistic skies, but makes everything else seemingly impossible. Is there a way to unlink them, or disable realistic sky, and get TG1 style control over the atmosphere?

I believe it is possible to get all of these and more, play with your haze/blue sky density, haze/blue sky horizon colour, and respective additive and decay sliders, all manner of colour combinations can work...not just blue and yellowish...

I had the same issue myself.  I was so used to "snapping my fingers" with TG Classic and getting what I wanted.  Not so with TG2.  Too many interactions between the settings gave me really bad results, and out of exasperation I ended up opting for a typically blue sky time after time.

What I've recently discovered is if I set the blue sky horizon colour to a neutral grey, lowered the blue sky altitude way down, like 1000 then raised the haze (low density: no more than 1) altitude way up, like 8 -9000, coloured it however I want, the sky will take on that same hue - and be dense enough to fade out any objects in the sky.  Since the sky altitude was so low, I didn't have to fiddle much with the "tweaks" settings.

I hope this works for you.  Good luck!
They're all wasted!
