I experimented with Terragen 2 , and came up with my first concoction:

Because of my lack of skill with any 3D program but Sketchup, I used Sketchup itself to model that plane and throw it into the image. The engine trails were added in Photoshop.

So, my first Terragen 2 image right there.

Side question: Where do you get free objects in Terragen 2, anyway?

Oh. I'm an idiot.

Welcome to the forums. Nice start with your image. You could perhaps try toning down the sun just a tad. And maybe try adding some reflection to the plane, as it doesn't feel well integrated in the scene.

In "toning down the sun" do you mean by the flare or the lighting?

I just meant the lighting - the strength.. But that's personal taste I guess.

The aircraft could use a UV map or two. One for coloring and another for the specular highlights (seams, rivets, weld points , etc..

Some very thin cirrus clouds might look nice. But then, I put them in every render. They are a quick way to get more light 'scattered' across a scene.
