Honestly one of my best pieces I've done. The color of the terrain might be a little bland but that it suppose to be because it's set in a desolace place.

The lighting overall is by using 2 different environmental light sources - Global Illumination and Ambient Occlusion with a massive redsky decay as the sun glare's close to the horizon.

I was planning to use Ray-Traced Shadows in the atmosphere to create sunshafts (volumetric light) but it didn't look too well with it.

Added a 3D Cumulus cloud layer  to create the low ground fog effect.

Enjoy!

The colors are very very good, Blackheart :). The fog looks also very nice. I personally would not include those lines in the sun glow.
Heard of computer graphics? CG? Terragen 2, the landscape generating program, also known as TG, a whole cool way to create realistic CG - with TG.

I like the image, but I don't think the lens flare is needed. Do you have more styles of lens flares? A rounded one might work better if you wish to keep the flare.

I am picking one as we speak. Just having difficulties to see which one actually goes with it.

Hi

Very nice light, color and dust/clouds!
I miss a bit the strato clouds (only very light and transparent ones).

ciao
