My favorite terrain displacement set up depicts an imaginary place somewhere near the Red Rock country of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Balloon Fiesta is quite an event to see once each year. Check it out at: http://www.balloonfiesta.com/ .

Thanks to Thelby for creating the balloon model; and, Walli for the pines and dry shrubs models. The vegetation colors were modified in Photoshop to better suit the lighting and terrain.

Enjoy...

Great work Bob!
Very cool displacements and I think the models turned out pretty good.
Perhaps a tad too light here and there, but the vast majority looks really good!
I especially like the striking light.

A useful tip perhaps:

It's not necessary to adjust all your textures in photoshop for brightness.
In the object-loader of the population go into the internal network until you can see the individual shaders for the leafs etc.
Then open a shader and increase the "diffuse colour" setting. Usually this is set at 0.5, but I know Walli adjusts this as well.
If you increase this value then the brightness will increase as well.

Thanks Martin, I have tried this and it works well; but, sometime, The colors need changing which was the case here including a change in brightness. I would like to make this .tgd available; but, some of the plant models were purchased at NWDA and this would be a no no unless I delete them ...we'll see.

Ah I see what you mean. It worked out nice :)

You can share the tgd without any problem as long as the objects are not included then there's no problem.
It would only load with lots of errors because of missing objects/textures and the like.
So for that sake alone you might consider deleting the nodes anyway.

Thanks Martin, I'll upload the .tgd a little later tonight,

Thanks, I used the Box filter when rendering. You can download this terrain in file sharing.
