Here's another go at using the new Firs from NWDA.
Quite happy with this one and no problems with memory (all population cut down to minimum area/numbers).

Firs, grass and weeds from NWDA (Walli the genuis)
Reeds from X-frog
pronghorns from DAZ 3D
Flowers from Drew Costigan.

C&C welcome.

The lighting is really quite nice. I like the plant distribution also.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

I like that and it´s nice how you added life to the scene. Just for interest - did you desaturate the texture of the dead branches? Because sometimes they come out a bit reddish and thats not the case here.

Thanks.

Yes, I actually changed the colour slightly after my wife said the only negative thing about the new firs i.e. the dead branches don't look real they're too red/brown.

This point of view and light are very good. Only if the water grass were a bit smaller.

I presume you mean the reeds?
Well that's how tall they grow 'round here.
If you compare them to the size of the deer they look right to me, but just for interest how high do you perceive them to be?

My thoughts in regard to the reeds was in error Kevin, I think what threw me about their size was their light color which makes them appear larger when in contrast to the other vegetation.

That's interesting, because their colour is something I'm not really happy with. I was after a "dead" straw coloured reed with a hint of green but no matter what I've tried it comes out too bright for my likeing.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

I have run into this often with grass and other plants. I have a collection of color/texture images I use to modify them depending upon the lighting set up used in the scene. And, they seem to work out very well. Also, many times I will take the color/texture images into Photoshop to change their colors/contrast/brightness with good results. It is a quick way of achieving the results you are looking for.

A bit unusual POV I'd say, but somehow I really like it!
What really makes it work for me is that you can see just enough of the background and the good looking water as well (nice transparency settings here).
The reeds/grasses in the water look a bit off maybe.
Ulco (dune) once sent me a reed model which could fit this scene nicely. Maybe he would like to share it with you as well.
Nice work all in all!

Cheers,
Martin

Thanks, the idea was to be watching the deer discreetly.

i.e. - What really makes it work for me is that you can see just enough of the background

Over to you Ulco.

Thanks again.
