some quick object testing...vegetation by lightning, klas, walli and a HQ fir from NWDA, mini from DMI3d, slightly modded in blender, surfaced in TG, minor pw for contrast and saturation etc....

Photo-realism for sure. The lighting and colors are right on. Thanks Jason for the tip on making the license plate.

Dune

Very well done. I like the deep colors. The only thing missing is some tracks of flattened grass, where the mini drove to this point....

Hi

this looks very real!

Very nice work, it looks like that the British start to drive on the right side of the road ,-)

On some places the Mini looks very low-poly. How many polygons does it have?

thanks folks...@ Volker, the original lwo was very low poly, I subsurfed in blender most of the vehicle, but ommited some parts for fear of deformation, the tyres were one of these areas, getting the balance right is difficult, I will have another look at this and see if I can improve these parts, any tips as how to do this would be gratefully recieved.
cheers again

edit, about the steering wheel/driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. ha I did not think of that, I will change the country code on the plate!(or reverse the render and the plate!!

Henry Blewer

A friend of mine drives a Morgan. The steering wheel is on the right side. He says it makes it easier to get the mail from the postbox.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

Nice work Inky. It feels, like a lot of terragen images, too dark - maybe its me

I did apply some pw, which added contrast/exposure/brightness and saturation tweaks, which did make it a little darker I guess...a matter of taste probably, maybe GI settings could've been higher?
the next one I will try this...

You should be able to flip the whole object inside blender.

inkydigit

thanks jmeyer, I will check that out!

Hi Jason,
honestly I am digging into he perfect workflow with models myself. I love the subsurf of Blender, but would like to use it one selections. So ripping the object into pieces could help ... could destroy it, too.
My main attention about the polys is around the fender. I f you'd be able to select these areas, subdivide and smooth them in Edit-mode.
If you would really able to tear the model into pieces, you could load them into Sculptris, as it has the very best Poly-handling I've ever seen. Bad point about it is ... you'll probably lose the texture, colour informaion :(
On the other hand ... as soon as you have the steering wheel on that other side, I do not mind about an exploded, off-texture model at all :D ;D ;)

Respectfully, Volker ,-)

cheers Volker, I will have a look at that technique in Blender tonight, i made another render with some minor changes(foreground tree position and unchecked cast shadows for the glass parts!) i will keep you all updated...I will check the steering setup too!!!

Cool inky.  It looks fantastic, but looks like it's low on exposure from my side.  Maybe my monitor really is dark.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?
