At some point will we get stars for night scenes and also in space?

buchvecny

its possible even now, just add multiple light sources and give them low strengh

It should be posable to use a back drop. I found it listed in the shaders. You can use the univerce program to make you space back ground. http://www.diardsoftware.com/
I tried it, but crashed TG2 doing something else and never got back to doing it again.

can you tell a green field, from a cold steel rail? a smile from a veil?
do you think you can tell?" P.F.

I thought about the lightsource idea. But if you want a load of stars in the sky it would take to long. Much better just to click a "add stars" button and then just select the density and colour.

I made an image over at Ashundar that used stars:

I did this by going to the background object, viewing its internal network, and then adding an image map shader with a picture of some satellite.  I'm guessing you can plug a Power Fractal in there to get similar results - have high color at white, low color at black, set color offset to about -0.5, and color contrast to about 5.  That should give you a basic starting point.

hey ob those stars are really nice, maybe we don't need an add stars button after all if you can effects like that.

If you guys want me to I can make some starfields in photoshop for you. I am into celestial art so that will not be a problem. Just tell me the size...

This is just a quicky example of what you can do with http://www.diardsoftware.com/  . Low render settings are what I hope is causing the fuzzyness.

You could always use photoshop :) If you don't have the skills to create stellar stuff you can always get some beautiful stuff from the hubble site like this one for instance. Used that as a background for this:
