Anyone know how I can get better and stronger light reflected onto the bottom of the rock?

Add a bluish sun with no shadows, set to elevation -90. Nice rock, by the way.

moonclay

Thanks Dune. I'll give that a try.

this rocks, moonclay...very cool work!
how did you do the ripples?

moonclay

Thank you inkydigit. The ripples were made using sine wave displacement with the function nodes. I also used function nodes to create the voronoi noise texture on the rock.

thanks moonclay, can you share a clipfile or screen grab for the sine function?

Sure, here's a screenshot. Nothing fancy.

I originally had it set up to decrease the ripple effect over distance, but it wasn't working correctly and I couldn't figure out why, so I ended up just masking the ripples with a painted area. These ripples are only set up to work starting at 0,0.

Dune

Instead of a painted mask, you can use a soft simple shape shader as a blender. And I'm sure there is a 'blue way' as well.

A setting for a spectacular scene. Would like to see you expand upon the work which is very good.

This reminds me a a minimalist Japanese work going on here for some reason.

can add a bright white 'card' with reflection show but not seen to camera for more light off water to

Awesome.  These images are giving me something to aspire towards.
