I was wondering if there is a way in TG2 to use a looping animated texture. Like say, use a 100-frame sequence over a 300-frame TG2 scene (looping 3 times). The %04d suffix only "maps" each texture frame to the current scene frame.
My current "workaround" (not really) is actually repeating the texture sequence on disc, by duplicating/renaming frames until the total sequence duration matches that of my TG2 scene. But that can be counter-productive, not to mention potentially a big waste of disk space.
