first real render for a while...
Walli and NWDA trees, grasses by Klas, Lightning and Mr Lamppost, I think...
'66 Beetle from DMI, modified by me in Blender, textured by me in Terragen, Neolithic tomb, created by me in blender, again textured entirely in Terragen, Sacha and Anya models from 3D scans at Artec3d (www.artec3d.com)...clouds include modified versions of Matt's mackerel clouds and my own recipe!
thanks for taking time to view/comment critique etc, as these are always welcome and appreciated!\
cheers

That beetle does look good! Realistic windows and head lights and shiny chrome... And so do the human models and the tomb. Thanks for the link btw.
The path could use some negative displacement, now it looks like it is on top of the terrain and not really a part of it.

thanks Andy, the path is negatively displaced, but maybe not so visible from this pov and lighting angle...

Nice render :)
Just a little sunshine on the front part maybe?

Oshyan

That's pretty impressively realistic! Nice work. I've seldom seen human figures better integrated in a TG scene.

Nice work J! It is a very well composed scene....I am feeling suitably inspired :) I would like to know whether it is possible to influence a SSS with PFs to give a track more texture and colour though....

Jonathan.
Every problem is an opportunity, but there are so many opportunities it is a problem!

inkydigit

thanks Jonathan...by 'sss' do you mean 'simple shape shader' or 'sub surface scattering' ?
if the former, then I would say that I used a painted shader for the track/population restrictions & (negative)displacement, if the latter, then I would say, I don't know!!

One of your best Jason, this is outstanding work by you.

FrankB

good one! Especially, I like the bottom half. The sky isn't on par with the rest of the scene though, but it's still a very nice render! Maybe you want to try another more subtle sky next?

Cheers,
Frank

Dune

Very nice image, but I agree with Kadri that the grass area might benefit from a little more light. The overall scene is a bit darkish, while the sun is at around 35 degrees or even more as far as I can tell. And I don't like the large clouds, they are too soft. This is my opinion, and, as my little Dandel0 quote underneath suggests, not to be taken seriously if you don't want to ;)
I do very much like the realism here!!!

Jonathan

The former Jason! I haven't used a painted shader yet so will add it to my list of things I've yet to master....

thanks folks...here is an updated version of the same render, slightly different post work process...

Dune

The grass is great now, but I still have trouble with that cotton fluff cloud. Sorry.
