I have seen emecstudios have a plugin for 3ds sharing with terragen.  Does this allow for the ability to import .3ds files?

The company makes plugins for 3DS MAX. From what little info is on the website, you would be able to import from Terragen to MAX.

I was stuck here:

Thanks Bobbystahr :)

If i remember correctly this plugin is one way ; from TG2 to Max only as Yossam said.
You know this probably Elipsis1 , but you can convert to OBJ files and use them in TG2.
Still , more file format support would be nice .
If this is what you are asking of course .

I have a logo text that is 3ds, made with an OLD version of Cinema 4D Go

What would be the easiest way to covert? Posray? I have never used that but will try if that is how it must be done.

Could blender convert it?

Most 3D software can convert to OBJ format.
Look at the option in the program you have.
But yes Poseray is one good option.
Its OBJ files are preferred by TG2 mostly  :)

I've had success at everything I've tried in Pose Ray and it's free so I recommend it. It does have a problem with large objects with many grouped parts like Max outputs [the .obj export]...they need to be broken up in another .obj app like blender or wings3d, but it makes an .obj that TG2 really likes...almost as much as XFROG conversions...there are a number of threads in this forum about it's many uses so read up and if y get stuck...just ask....

Oh, looks like that has no Mac version?

Anyway thanks for the clarification.

I don't know Mac's but Boot Camp ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boot_Camp_%28software%29 ) or similar software maybe ?
Could be useful in the long run for programs without a Mac version too.

The emecstudio plugin does go into Max and allows you to export an object/sun/camera from Max into TG2. I've exported suns and cameras so far. Objects in Max I've simply exported as OBJs and imported them as OBJ files in TG2. Seemed easier that way.

The emecstudio plugin has a glitch sometimes if an object is animated (spatially). You may have to go into Excel and modify the .channel file numbers manually if your object goes past the 180-degree (due south) mark, I've found.

Just make sure to have your Max file in meters. Makes everything easier.

Thanks FlynAD. Good to know  :)
