Anyone used this or heard about it?  Looks very interesting and has some good pricing.

Ok, just read everything on the site. Looks really cool.

I am confused about something though. "Normal Maps".

TG2 does not except normal maps. I have read on these forums that normals must be converted to bump.
1) Is there any negative effect to converting normals to bump?
2) why are normals better than bump?
3) if everyone uses normals, than why does TG2 not support it? Or, will TG2 support it?
3)How can I convert a normal map to a bump map?

I render in TG2, so thats why I need to know.

The price on this APP is real nice. 50-60 for students and hobby. 99 for pro (single user) and a lot more for companies.

Link is working.  I think MalwareBytes might be overstepping.  It's fine...as far as I can see.

As far as converting over to BMP maps, I don't know.  Never worried about it.  This can create all sorts of maps you could use in TG2 - "Generate awesome AO, 16-bit Displacement, Diffuse, Specular and Cavity from any normals."  You could start from Normals and work into the other maps, which work great in TG2.  I'm pretty sure 16-bit displacement is acceptable in TG2, but I don't remember.  If not, you can lower it to 8-bit and then use it.

The two sellers for me are the pricing and the fact it can do stuff in Photoshop to tweak and doodle.  :)

Thanks man. I will be getting this one. Making texture maps is so important. and the price is right.

works here at work

looks like it has a lot of potential, depending on what you do,
wish there was some sort of stand alone version though, rather than a PS plugin

You may also want to check Shadermap Pro ( http://shadermap.com/ )  It's been rather quiet at that web site but I noticed they have a new version coming out soon.

I have ShaderMap Pro, but I don't believe it does everything this does.  It's great, though - makes all the maps.  But, it's not as doodle-happy in Photoshop.

For anyone interested, I just found this on Newtek's site from someone who says he uses this free version all of the time - http://quixel.se/nDo1/

Yes, I would be interested to see what Shadermap Pro 2 will do.  They say on the website it's 85% ready.

I got the same e-mail, upgrade is only $20 and it seems to be greatly improved.

Shadermap is very nice...seems to do the same things as nDo...
