Why can I not save altered TGO files from XFROG plants

Just noticed something odd (well I think so)
If I load an xfrog tgo and go into its internal network and make a change, (say bring up the spec) when I come out of it's internal network and right click on the TGO node there is no option to "Save object as ..."
However if I load an obj, save it as a tgo, delete the obj and load the tgo I have just saved then I can re-save the tgo as a new tgo. What gives? Looks like there's some kind of copy protection on the xfrog tgo's. So they are tgo's but not the same as the tgo's that we can save from within Terragen ourselves.
It's not a big issue but it would be useful to be able to save multiple versions of the same tgo with different textures, attributes etc.

Correct. This is at request of Xfrog. You should still be able to save clip files with any changes you've made and they'll reference the original TGO object.

Cool, that makes some sense. Saving clip files is ok although a little inconvenient, especially when working over multiple systems and reusing resources created on one system and needed on another (especially if the first system is no longer available)
Out of interest is there a way I can save a tgo of an object so I can distribute it without it being altered?

The "deny save" function for TGOs is not a general feature at this point.
