Hello,

Here I have tried to recreate a glacier. I used World Machine for the errosion and the flow map.
It is not a perfect image, some things need to be improved here and there.

Unfortunately I won't be able to do more here as Terragen don't want to open my saved file, a warning message  says " parse error at line...not well formed"
Anyway I hope it is good enough as it is.

Great image and nice layout. Too bad you can't work on it anymore, as it would need some adjustments indeed, I'd say. Maybe you can open the backup file (.tgdbak)? Loose the bak part. I think the rock may have some more color variation, maybe some strata colors (X and Z stretched fractals), and I would give the edge of the lake more muddy/algae colored stones. I hope you'll be able to retrieve the file.

Since the Terragen file is basically an xml file (ie text editor readable) you could try opening it in a text editor and copy/pasting the relevant parts directly into a new Terragen window. This may get around the file being un-readable.
Good scene by the way. Maybe I'd go for a little more variation in the trees and rocks.

Thank you for your help and comments.

I have find out what was wrong. As you suggested to me, I have open the Terragen file with a text editor and saw that Terragen pointed to the wrong directory for my Ter file : "C:\Users/... " instead of "C:\Utilisateurs/...", in French.
I manually corrected the path and now it works !

I will post an improved image as soon as I can.

I think its a good image over all too. But the best part is the trees. They fell rather real here. Where did you get the dead trees from?
Water could use a little color : http://moblog.net/media/r/a/r/rareaquaticbadger/triconi-glacial-lake.jpg
It has been eaten.

Here is, I hope, an improved rendering.
The dead trees are made with Xfrog.

cool to see you were able to retrieve your file.

cool looking landscape.

Great! I like the rocks on the glaciers. For the algae coast you probably used the height restriction from the surface layer. If you want a line that is more corresponding to the water level, you'd better use a distribution shader. If!

Icegrip

Great scene! Would like to see a higher detail version of this.

The glacier looks really good. For the trees maybe you'd want some undergrowth or at least soil to show, so they don't appear to grow from rocks/ice. Also, tilt them a bit here and there, those trees take a beating when avalanches get loose and with rock fall.

The trees look great, and I like the erosion too.

OOPs! I just looked at this again, Antoine. I want to say that I did not mean that the trees were nice and your image sucked. I meant that your render made the trees look real! lol :) Just to be clear, its a good image I think.

;)
It has been eaten.

This is a great image and your glacier is right on ! The rocks on it make it look realistic...and those trees are very nice.....what are they ??? Xfrogs or others ??? Somehow they do not look like my XFrogs collection ! Excellent work !

Thank you all for your kind comments !

To pclavett : the trees are the douglas fir from the USA conifers collection, the dead trees are the same which I modified with Xfrog, I simply deleted the needles.
