More play with sand dunes.

TheBadger

I like this one better than the last choronr. On the whole I mean.
Looks nice.
It has been eaten.

Dune

Yes, nice. Might add some rattlesnake somewhere...

choronr

Thanks Michael and Ulco. Did you notice what appears to be a 'Boar's Head' with a cowboy hat on between the two large rocks? Like looking at clouds making characters out of them ...lol.

Dune

No, didn't see that, but I now see what you mean. By the way, a little fill light from the right might do some good to the rocks. Reflection from the sand, so no shadows and -45 degrees, bit warm color.

choronr

Thanks Ulco, will play with your suggestions. The first image had a fill light; but I deleted it on this one. Maybe less displacement on the rock?

Total render time on this was 25.52.07.

Walli

choronr

Thanks Walli. I'm thinking about the next one.

Hannes

This looks really nice! The rock may need some variety in colour. Maybe some PF as colour function?

Thanks Hannes. Did try a PF with very minimal variation. I need to work with this set up some more. Maybe I'll do one more scene soon.

25+ hours?
Yes, a good portion of render time was spent around the rock.

Dune

Too complex displacements.

Oshyan

Unless there is reflection or SI Surface Details enabled, even complex displacement shouldn't slow down a render *that* much.

choronr

Ulco, Oshyan, the slow downed render is due to the reflections I added to the stones/rock set up.
