Thanks to Hannes for the atmosphere suggestion :) Many years ago I watched some goats play "king of the castle" for about 15 mins before returning to the proper buisiness of eating and I could not resist adding them.

I think the goat thats standing in the water is nearly or completely photo real. The light in that exact spot must be the ideal light to get. Its interesting.
The goat jumping *up* to the stone also looks perfect.

The others are good too, its just the two I mention are really really real ;D

I think the light on the terrain also got a good deal better too. I like that you added some mood with the atmo. There is more emotion now.

Its really good man! And I don't want to exhaust you. But My last suggestion is to add an overcast sky. But push the overcast sky back so its above and behind the cliffs so it does not ruin that beautiful light in the foreground.

For the  overcast sky I recommend FrankB's free clip. You may not even have to use a new camera to push is behind the mountains. Often the sun will shine through as with out, but you get some extra feeling.

This is good now, just some more ideas is all.

Photoreal. Simple, elegant and beautiful

This is really great!  Some awesome photorealism going on, especially in the right fore-to-midground... the billboards are reasonably effective, although it's hard to gauge scale

mhaze

Thanks all. Eoin, there are no billboards, everything is either a .obj or tgo model.  Badger, is it the patch of blue sky you don't like?  I was going for the clearing storm look.

EoinArmstrong

Wow, really?  My bad... they are great models and well-lit, then!

Yeah, The blue there really throws me off.
I got what you were after right away. I would say if someone gets exactly what you wanted them to, then that is a talent.

But for me the power is in those clouds in the pathway. Thats where the emotion is. The story.
I see blue skies everyday. Its nice. But its boring.
That dense fog/storm coming in and the warm light from behind the camera about to be consumed... But its cool because I don't get the sense that I (or the goats) are about to die in a lighting storm. More like some heavy rain (maybe), but the fog may lead to some mystery.

I presume I followed a path to get to the watering hole. And that because Im facing the clouds, and thats where the path leads, that whatever I came here for is hidden in that storm. Maybe that fog is always there? Maybe it hides my village from PRISM... Or something like that anyway :D

I was probably voting for what I wanted to see more than commenting on how good your image is ;D sorry :)

By the way, I did not say so, but I love the frock faces too.

Don't apologise, I enjoy your comments they are honest and thought provoking.  I'll photoshop the blue out - just to see.  I must admit I am not sure about it either.

mhaze

Here you go - not sure which I like the best, last one I think.

Oshyan

Personally I like the blue. I feel like the sun may be about to break through and shine light on these nice creatures in the foreground, which would be nice. :)

I prefer the middle one... it doesn't *always* rain in Scotland :p

This looks so real, excellent job.
