There are a few problems with the rocks on the right side.
Good feel over all though. I like the sand and pebbles a lot too. But I have a little bit of difficulty zeroing in on what the exact scale is... Maybe an object of clear and known size would help? A human would be ideal, but a man made object of common experience would work too... Not strictly necessary, just a thought.
It has been eaten.

I love the interesting and unusual overhang features you have on the canyon walls, but I agree the scale is a bit hard to determine. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about those large rocks in the riverbed itself is throwing me off I think.

I would get rid of the rocks in the gully all together, maybe a few and lots smaller. They are very rough and don't look natural. I do like the overall settings and redirects. Maybe a small winding river, dried or alive, at the bottom?

I agree about the rocks/stones placement. Maybe consider the largest of them near the upper slopes and the smaller ones (and just a few larger ones) in the lowest part of the terrain (river bed).

Modelled and added a root in XFrog, just to see if I could... added a couple of other XFrog pops and a T3 cloud preset....
Will post another with this terrain I think...

I really like the terrain you are working with here, and the details you keep adding are great. One of these days I am going to have to look into World Machine or Geocontrol... Or maybe find some free terrains online and use those.
