Hi everyone.

I'm trying a new time consuming modeling technique. Ha!

I guess you could call this a beta version.

Let me know if you have any problems with the download or file.

If you use it in a project post an image in this thread. It will be cool to share your creativity. It's a very dense model so, use it as a foreground tree.

Used:

Blender + Sapling Plugin
Gimp -  Photo Custom Texture
CrazyBump - Excellent Map Generstor

Many thanks Marc...looks awesome...off to test it in T3Free...looking like I may need to learn blender to access that sapling plug in which I'm guessing as at the root of your new modeling technique..I know about Crazy Bump but haven't yet bit the bullet and bought it...looks like I may have to.

Great to hear from you, Bobby.

The sapling plugin was used to get the basic shape. Then I took the first two branch levels and welded them to the trunk and first level branches. This was a pain in the you-know-what. This extra work gives a nice transition to the branches. Did a lot of duplicates and scaling. The UV unwrap was a lot of fun. Not.

Let me know how this works in T3. I haven't worked with it yet.

Are you still playing music? Keep it up if you are. Good stuff.

Will do Marc, I'm only on the free version...doubt that'll make a diff though, good to see ya back here....I'm dividing my time 'tween 3D and my Music so am not as productive in either, but then I am no longer a young man of 40....

Well Marc this is a quick and dirty in TG3free, 2 Walli grasses and a distant pop of the Maple with a scale one in the foreground, that makes the 3 pops free allows.
