Thelby

I am uploading this on a request.
This is my first created scene in TG3 Pro. I used several elements from some of my TG2 scenes and Walli's Grass.
I tried using the color variance on the grass population, but was never able to get it to work. All it did was darken the grass. That's where Photoshop came in and I imported the texture maps and colored them the way I wanted. I will try the Population Color Variance at a later date.
I always like to look at my terrain with the Top Camera and use the Camera Gizmos to move it into what looks like a nice POV. When I did that this time and then went back to the Render Camera the Camera would not move with all the mouse buttons.
Anyway things I will work out at a later date.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas or any other Festive Celebration you are partaking in.

Nice................. :)

Very good scene Mark. First, I like the rocks/stones; and, the fine gravely sand. The mountains remind me of a photo I've seen of one of the Hawaiian islands. The grasses that their variability are a nice mix along with the other vegetation. Finally, after viewing your work over the past few years, I must say your style of Terragen art is uniquely 'Thelby'.

If you use pop color variation, the basic color is multiplied by a fractal, hence some areas will darken, others will stay as light as the whitest areas in that fractal, so overal it darkens. So you have to lighten the basic color first. No matter if you use the TG3 method or the internal method (like in the thread 'Lyla's grass': http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,17117.msg166208.html#msg166208

Happy holidays to you too.

Thanks for sharing your first tg3 image. More than promising.

Merry Xmas

Good image. I especially like the detail and texturing in the foreground.
