Learnt a lot from this one, a testbed for me.  All simple shape shaders, the canyon, the arch and the lefthand cave. I've also sorted one or two texturing issues.

That's very cool, yet another thing I never imagined the Simple shape shader could be used for when I wrote it :-).

kaedorg

Very impressive. Hope to learn more about it.

I've tried using the SSS to punch through terrain to create an arch but not succeeded.  The end wall is always left behind.

It's two SSS one each side of the canyon with redirects to get them to displace horizontally!

I figured that. And probably smoothing activated in compute terrain? Or wasn't that nescessary in this setup?

Thanks!
Always better to mention the successful solution instead of
saying how it doesn't work. ;)

mhaze

smoothing wasn't needed! its a very simple setup - in fact I was surprised how simple!

It is so simple I'm sure from the clues you've been given you could, with a little playing, replicate it!  But life is short so I'll put a cut down version showing the basics in File sharing.

Simply a project of good experimentation and creativity ...good show Mike!
