Just a quickie to get back in the saddle. Much to do here as yet. Spring has arrived where I live. Some of the early spring desert flowers are in bloom; and, are an inspiration for creating some new images.

The sand ripples here are those I've learned how to make; thanks to Dune. Will be trying a few different sun positions and adding some populations of desert flora. The vertical terrain needs some color variance.

More to come...

Very nice relief here.

I'm sure that with your sense of composition and placement for vegetations and colours,
You'll give us a masterpiece here.

Looking forward

Richard, you would never regret it. Our worst weather is mid June through mid September when the heat gets up a bit - but, there is air conditioning and the swimming pools. I really got tired of the long winters back in Chicago. Lack of color outdoors; everything from white to black and all shades of gray in between. Honestly, where the hell is the sun? Summer humidity was just a drag ...I had enough of this purgatory and decided to move to Arizona when I was 50 back in 1987.

Honestly, make the move, you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Thank you Kadri, I'm looking forward to transforming this into something that will be pleasing.

HA!

I remember walking from school in Tempe, to work at south mountain in August. I was half dead by the time I got there. Public transport sucks there. I could walk the distance before I saw 1 damn bus!

But then I got a car and loved it the next 3 years I lived there. The desert rocks!

very nice terrain forms, Bob. Could turn out to be a great one!
It has been eaten.

Yes, I like the layout and terrain, this is going to be very nice.....

Thanks Michael; here we have more ups here than downs. Back in the mid west, we had 3 nice (humid) months of weather - here, it is the reverse: 9 months of Paradise; 3 months of heat. The real bonus is the land; Arizona has all five weather zones; and, the land has endless, beautiful landscapes.

Agree one hundred %! Water is an issue though. ;)

Although during the monsoons Tempe floods. Which I quickly realized was the reason everything was built up on these little mounds. I remember being down by ASU at an apartment complex walking around with everyone else in near knee deep water. Everyone was in such good moods because of it.
It did not cause any damage.

These kids hooked a tow line to a big ass 4x4 and were trying to pull a guy on a body board. ;D it did not work too well. But it was fun as heck to watch. Just about everyone in the area came out to play.

The monsoons are really a special time of year there. Much more fun than trouble in my little experience. Although we all rented and would not really of cared about damage. Home owners may have a different view.

MY favorite places near the valley are the superstition mountains. Just loved taking day trips there! camped there at the lake once too. Such a great place!

I had an apartment for a while where I could see both sun devil stadium and four peaks perfectly from my back balcony. Great to sit there with a friend and have a beer and just stair out.

Oh, and slide rock was a great day trip too!

Do you know these places Bob?

If I ever do move back I would think I would like to live in the ahwatukee foothills. Back up in to the hills though, not really in the township.
