Yesterday evening, before dinner I walked along the sea.
Weather was something like that. Spring is coming  ;)

Still a WIP, not satisfied with water in the foreground (not enough reflectivity I think)

I agree about the water. I have one nit pick...........the wet sand is not dark enough and it cuts off rather abruptly It should have a smoother transition to the dry sand. All this is my opinion...........and you know the old saying. Everybody has got one.

Really good start...........will be waiting for the next.  :)

Dune

Yeah, nice start. But it's not the reflectivity. I think you should group the foam more, or make it's distribution harder, so it stands out more. Did you use a voronoi noise? If you play with all the settings, you can make that quite convincing.
I don't necessarily agree with Richard about the hard line of wet sand, it sometimes is like that. What I do think is that you should even out the displacements on the wet area, it would be smoothed by the water.
If you want to see the dark stuff under water in more detail (at the cost of render time), you should look inside the render node and raise the render subdivision settings to maybe 0.75 (1 = max).

I do like the clouds very much! And the terrain is perfect.

I'll watch this one develop with interest. This theme seems among the more difficult types of images for TG to pull off, but a few folks here have absolutely amazed us with some great seashore renders. Looking forward to your progress and taking notes!

I tried to change the water but I'm not happy with it.
If the colour is ok, it changes everything.
It loses here the feeling of shallow water with the dark parts for brown algae.
So back to the first one and I'll work on the foam.

Here is a new one.
Changing the rendering ratio to 1.68 (need to work with it).
Changing the x rotation of the camera a little bit up.
Adding some foam.
Not sure about the blue sky on top now..

kaedorg

Need your opinion between this one and the previous.
Just a move on X rotation

Dune

I like the second one more, gives a lot more depth. But the stuff on the sand gives the impression of shadows, I guess they are seaweed? You (I) can't really tell. What if you dump those (put them on the beach as floodline, maybe), and perhaps add some larger stones, just a few, clumped.
I like the foam, but I also think you should keep it more near the shore. It would work (foam scattered everywhere), if you had some larger rocks protruding from the water. I still think you need to flatten the wet area.

kaedorg

Another iteration.

I follow ulco's advices.

Limiting the foam near the shore, cleaning the sand stuff, put 3 stones on the beach.

Dune

Much improved, David! Now how about a floodline with some debris?

mhaze

Nice work! This getting really interesting keep going.

kaedorg

As suggested, a version with a floodline with some debris
