I think it looks really good.
I have just two crits if you don't mind, just suggestions really... Would it be more effective visually if the wings were not so well defined? I mean very much there, but not so perfect? Or more a strong impression than a definitive form.
Also for this king of image, it would not be inappropriate at all to barrow from the luminists, and use a bounce light (so to speak) to light up a bit, the foreground. If you look at a luminists landscapes, they treated their subject just like a photographer treats a portrait. They painted reflected light from imaginary sources. Of course it could end up looking cheesy. But if it when it works it tends to work very well.
Just some thought. I like it as it is two.
