I had to rest a little today from the Well animation WIP and made this basic gif animation for fun and to test some things.
There is much room for improvement but more then this wouldn't be fun anymore:) It is all Terragen.

Not sure if i understand you right.
It took 8-10 hours with all the rendering tests together probably.
So the actual scene construction is much much less then that.
The first time is the hardest obviously. Another try would be much faster.

There are some small parts that maybe aren't obvious.
I made some little flattening size differences when the ball hits the ground.
There is a little dirt line too over the ball after it hits the ground and goes to the side.
Not sure if it can be seen without saying.

seriously, Im curious if some one is going to try an make a rain storm in TG? Adding rain in post is not very good. I would really like to see someone make some good rain storm in TG, if it can be done.

There were one or more threads a couple of years ago about
rain made with clouds if i remember right Michael.
I think it isn't so hard as you think.
Those where about the part in the air.

Even the ground part could be animated probably.
I  haven't tried it though.

Very interesting; and, a good job. How did you do the droplet of water transparency?
