i tried the demo version with no problem so i purchased the deep version, everytime i render it gets to about 80% then it crashes with an NTDLL.DLL ERROR and closes down, i have today reformated and only installed TG2 again the same thing is happening, i am p------- off and want a refund as i can not use the program, has anyone else had this and id there a fix.

i am using core 2 duo e6600 with xp home edition, and have never had this error before.

We'd need a bit more specific information about what you were trying to render.. render settings? object populations?

TOPDOG

mate it even happens when i render the default setup.

every time, it runs through the first tage of render with the dots on screen then gets half way through the next part where the picture block come on screen then it crashes with the standard xp window mid screen, blaming NTDLL.DLL for the error, then tg2 closes down, it matters not how simple the render setting are, the demo ran fine, but now i cannot even run the same render with the deep version without the crash.

USING

XP WITH SP2
CORE 2 DUO E6600
2GB RAM

I HAVE REFORMATED AND TRIED ALL THE TRICKS I CAN FIND ON THE INTERNET ABOUT NTDLL.DLL ERRORS BUT IT STILL HAPPENS, ITS GETTING FRUSTRATING WAITING FOR AGES ONLY TO HAVE IT CRASH AGAIN.

Well, the default screen should not take ages ... but seriously ... have you tried reinstalling the free version? It could be a memory issue that did not show up before. Just an idea.

DEMO VERSION STILL RUNS ERROR FREE, FULL DEEP VERSION NEVER COMPLETES A RENDER WITHOUT CRASHING

Its interesting you say that the Deep Edition (I have Deep + Animation my self) never completes a render without crashing...yes it dose it may take a while on large images but gets there in the end, there are times when working with certain node set ups where the application will crash and other occasions where it will freeze up but the latest build that is available is far less prone to crashing that I have seen then the initial free version.

It appearers that crashes and there causes appear randomly form what I have experienced, and the best thing to do is try and repeat them then come here and file a bug report (Ideally with attached Screen Shoot/s and TGD Files), TG2 is still in its early days yet and will get better with time.

Regards to you.

I MEAN MY DEEP PROGRAM NEVER GETS TO DO A FULL RENDER WITHOUT CRASHING.

Did you uninstall the free version first and then install the registered version?

TOPDOG

YEP FREE VERSION WAS UNINSTALLED, THEN TRIED FRESH XP INSTALL, NO JOY.. STILL CRASHES DURING RENDER NTDLL.DLL

rcallicotte

I've never had anything like this and have had the Deep version from almost the beginning.  I'd say you should take this to the support section and work with Planetside.  I've never heard anything like this in any shape or form.  I'm also wondering about your uninstall of the free version (yes, uninstall it before installing the Deep version).  Another thing would be that NTDLL.DLL is not Planetside's DLL, which means it's something other than this program and likely (if nothing else is obvious) is a driver issue.

Have you installed the SP2 for XP?
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Make sure you have SP2 installed, as well as all of the latest graphics card drivers - this is very important.  Is there *any* way to render *any* scene - does even the "Quick Render" node crash?  Do you notice any odd colors in the first render (with all of the dots) such as deep blues, greens, or reds?  Could you possibly share some screenshots of the program?  I realize that you're furious at this issue, but giving us all of the information you have in a clear fashion will dramatically help with the troubleshooting process.

Please post a sample project file , I have the core DUO 6600 and can leave it running for hours. perhapse the deep version is in some way stressing the hardware that the free one does not. , do I rememeber a limitation on render size of something with the free version ?

reduce the video resolution of your desktop to maybe 1024 X 768 and retry

You are not overclocking by any chance , I have seen some instability by OC the CPU

And please stop yelling in capital letters. It is annoying and I stopped reading.

Hi, ok as i have said , this is a fresh install of xp with no other programs installed, no virus check or anything as i wanted to test a clean windows, screen resolution is 1024x768, all the latest drivers, sp2 installed, all updated.

it will render anything at the same levels as the demo version but as soon as i up the quality, aa, or screen size it gets about halfway through the render then it crashes with the usual xp box in the middle of the screen, it says the error is in module NTDLL.DLL.

The options are send report or not as is usual with the xp crash window, which ever i press the terragen will close down, so i lose the render, the only way i am gonna be able to do a big render is to crop into loads of pieces and hopefully it will last to do a small render each time, i have never had this error ever before exept for this software, i can run 3ds max with a massive render screen running indefinitly and no problem, all my software has run perfectly except for the deep terragen.

I have tried all the fixes that i can find for NTDLL.DLL errors but nothing works,

TOPDOG

its a fresh xp install with no other programs installed, everything is up to date, drivers, sp2 installed, it will render anything that the demo can do but as soon as i go larger or up the quality or aa it will crash half way through the render with the NTDLL.DLL error, the pc will run a massive render scene in 3ds max no problem, i have never seen this error before with any software that i have used.
