The update to Yosemite is ready. Just noticed it.
Any reason from a TG3 perspective that I should hold off on updating my OS?
TG is ready to go?

And though its not the forum for all things OS. In general, has anyone heard of any problems with other 3d soft and updating? Maya, TPF Mud, anything? Anyone have any reason not to update? Just want to ask in case someone reading this has info.

Thanks.

Unlike some companies, we don't hard-code OS compatibility into our release versions. We're not (yet) aware of any issues, but we also have not specifically tested Yosemite to my knowledge. Unless they made some major changes to something TG uses, it should be fine (it usually is).

I'd hold off for 2-3 months, probably until they get to 10.10.02 or higher. Apple usually manage to break a few things with each release in my experience.

Thanks.

I just know that the major updates is where apple puts most of its security updates too. So I always feel pressured to update fast for that reason.

But the prior versions get the security updates as well, so I don't think you need to worry on that score.
In fact I noticed that 10.9.5 got a security update this week.
It may be that new versions need more security updates ;)

That's good to know, thank you for posting.

I'm holding off for a bit. The last thing I need right now is dropping WiFi connections.

Upgraded to iOS 8.1 on my iPhone and iPad last weekend, both of which are working fine, so I'm quite keen to go to Yosemite, but I'd like to see the 10.10.1 update first!

I have had no problems whatsoever.

I liked Snow Leopard best. But this new version is pretty nice so far. I like it better than mavericks by a lot. And its better than mountain lion IMO.

Safari is a lot better and so is itunes for that mater. But on itunes, thats not saying much. I really hate some of the changes they made to it since Leopard days. And have not been a fan since then, preview of content without having to click, for one.
