Hi,

I'm playing around with the Terragen3 Free and I like what I see even though I'm not entirely
sure how to use it well.  I'm hoping to purchase Terragen3 for my own personal use and
I 'believe' I'd eventually (barring any issues) get the Pro+Animation (but it's right now
out of my budget - why is T3 Creative + upgrade to Pro+Anim. more expensive than Pro+Anim
or have I misunderstood?).

Looking at the list of features in the product comparison on the website, is it possible to have some sort  of
popup or something that describes what they are?  Looking at the list of features, I have no idea
what any of those do and from a new user standpoint, should I care?  At some stage, I'd
like to dabble in animation, but only after I've mastered Terragen3.

That's a long list of features that you have questions about. Unfortunately we don't have any place where it's all explained, but with many of those things (for example EXR output, terrain geometry export, and many others), if it's something you need you would probably already know what it means. Items like multi-threaded preview, population color variation, and the Silva 3D models, among others, should be self-explanatory I think.

Ultimately I would say that if the features of Creative seem enough for you, and nothing in the Pro feature list seems like a clear must-have, then you're probably fine with Creative. We have intentionally created Pro as a product with specific appeal to professionals, those working in the VFX or games industry, or high-end art production, prints, etc.
