Thought I'd share a thread I ran across recently where a fellow is sharing some pretty intense hard surface modelling ...

Apparently all of it is actual geometry. Nearing 2 million polygons at the moment.

Oh, and if you prefer Star Trek to Star Wars ... another fellow is working on his (8th!) version of the Enterprise

Very nice models indeed.

New users around here it maybe don't know that they can find many different files over at http://www.terragen.org (old name www.ashundar.com).
There is a nice Space 1999 Eagle model for example.

Yes, for sure. But my kind of obsessive.  :)

I liken it to those that insist on rendering *everything* from within TG. (In spite of the fact that there are programs which are much better for particular tasks than TG itself.)

It's a personal challenge, which I can admire. Unless they start insisting that is the game EVERYONE has to play or that they are somehow better than others. Then, not so admirable.
