Best way to take out a hill.

Upon Infinity

Okay, so let's say I have a hill I want to take out, or at least push down a bit, what is a method of doing this?

By lowering the terrain; maybe. Dune helped me with something like this. He will probably jump in and make some suggestions for you.

Simple shape shader or similar and lower/minus amplitude. Worked for a out of place mountain for me (you can actually see it lower-left of my tag below; was just about as high as the other mountains)

Dune

Soft SSS as mask for surface shader, then use the smoothing function and displacement offset to level the area out.
