As I pondered what to title the image, I remembered my grandmother saying 'whatchamacallit' when she couldn't remember the name of something.

Looks like it would be easy to break an ankle amongst the rocks.  ;D

Maybe make the rocks a little more sparse............... ???

Wow Bob, these last two pieces are really fine images. Great rock formation and the vegetation is very nicely populated. I think you are really in the "zone" these days.

Yep, it would make hiking a bit easier. But, out hear in the desert, rocks are all over the place, especially near the foothills.

Thanks Doug. I have a thing for rocks and unique formations. Just today going through some old slides we took during the late 70s and early 80s, I ran across some neat photos we took in Utah while hiking.

Next image will hopefully be of an uphill trek displaying some nice formations. I'd like to make something like Dune's ('Rock in between') images.

Those formations are the outcome of first, a displaced cube that mhaze shared with me; then secondly, became the outcome of files shared by mogn/Hetzen/j meyer and combined with Mick's cube. You are familiar with the 'Rectangular Noise' thread - you will see those files there.

The vegetation models are from Walli except for the Atlas Blue Cedar which is an XFrog freebee (maybe he made it while working there).

Thanks for the tip!  8)
Your welcome; hope you will create something with it.

Dune

Turned out really nice, Bob. But (there's always a 'but') what about the road? I can see a hint of a path, but I think it would be great if you turn that or in a next file into a real road (dilapadated tarmac road) or more defined gravel path. Maybe with a rusty sign. For size and contrast sake.

Nice one Bob, love the colour and texturing of the rocks. The grass on the rocks is a nice touch too but I'd like to see more variety's of veg and maybe some closer deciduous trees.

That looks great, Bob! These rocks are fantastic! BUT (;D) I agree with Ulco. A more enhanced path (or road) would be a nice reference for the overall scale of the image.
I like the vegetation like this, (once more:) but the distribution could be a bit more irregular.
