So I decided to do some funky stuff for tests, I made a terrain in Bryce, saved it as a .tif file then added it to a cloud structure. Can get some neat effects, its a bit noisy but I think but tried various settings of samples etc on all levels and its still a bit noisy, but I'll upload the file if ya want. And BTW dunno what the hell is that banding and "mirroring" on the bottom. still learning:-)

I don't know anything about Bryce, but I like the couds!
Would it look even better with more frayed edges?

Clay

So I added some perlin hills to the cloud, again made in Bryce then imported the image in to use, still doing tweaking on getting everything to play together nice, but its starting to come together.

I really like how the underside of the clouds look.    ::) Nice work.

Very cool, been mainly using Bryce7 as my default modeler and had never thought of this...Where did you put the tif?..I'd
like a .tgc of the perlin hills one...don't forget to include the tif..I have done that, to my embarrassment...

Should I put the files here or in the file sharing thread?

Clay

Ehh here ya go. .zip file, I added a couple other variations of .tif files you can add to the clouds.

DocCharly65

Yessss! The second one is exactly what I meant!

Technically, File Sharing as that way the files are easily locatable but here is fine...and thanks very much.

Just playing with this file and had the Density Fractal preview window opened. I clicked the camera in there and it came to life...you can rotate the camera from there if the top down view shows clouds you'd like to see other than in the cameras view...this is gonna be a time saver...

Yes I did note that you can move the camera around, you can also til and rotate the terrain too.

Will do, but I got a bit distracted by your creativity and decided to make my own water on a Plane...workin' good so far. But the upshot is on my box your clouds take an age to render within the free version restrictions for size etc. Mine won't have you AAA or Detail settings so may be a bit noisy from test renders. still a cool and useful technique.  I've never saved terrains as a .tif out of Bryce...is that an obvious menu selection?
