OK, just got back from Siggraph 2007, and I have to say, what an amazing display of technology! There are things that are coming out soon that are simply magical. To see and try them in person, was even more amazing. I saw true 3D screens, high resolution/HDR screens running at 240 Hz (perfect for graphic work). They had plenty of real time panorama cams, and software, and some poor company is trying to 3d map the entire planet, including buildings (and it looks like they may be successful). I didn't see much for procedural modelling apps, which I was really hoping for.
I did look for Matt, but alas, there were thousands of people there, so no luck. Though there was no Planetside booth, I did see plenty of other "rival" apps and their booths, but I will honestly say TG2 still reigns on top when it comes to landscape generation.
