Starting another new series utilizing some of the advice from others, just first test rendering but it will progress.

Dune

Nice start. I like the cliff.

TheBadger

Good feel of scale!
It has been eaten.

HecubaAssassin

I like the breakup work in the foreground, to the left and center.   Adds a lot to it.

archonforest

Yeah nice start! Lots of potentials tere :D

Yup, you're getting it. Agree with Dune on the cliff...I like massive cliffs for some reason. Following this thread.

Soo..got to playing with the fake stones shader. I'm trying to ad some displacement to the stones but it doesn't seem to be working out to well LOL!! Have been trying to add texture and some displacement to the stones as child layers etc, but it doesn't seem to want to play nice..sigh sad panda:-/ Here's a side by side test of 2 renders adding the strata displacement as a child layer of the fake stone shader, obviously I'm not getting the lil striated rocks I'm wanting WHEEEEeee

pug_ugly

Looks amazing. Has an epic scale to it!

Have you tried adding a Surface layer in the Fakestone  Surface shader slot...see clip.

You can this way add colour and other displacement through the Surface layer.

I wound up after a few ideas didn't pan out, sticking the Strata 'twixt the Surface layer and the Fakestones and it works there so you could just stick one in there; but my way you have access to excess texturing.
Did you miss the .tgc I added?

So that didn't work eh/ I realized I'd sent a .tgc with 100m rocks, hardly a fair start and then I tried scaling everything down but wound up crashing before I'd got it. Had never tried strata in fakestones before but will try again as it was promising at the start.

So I stripped everything down, made a sky and will start again from here, adjusting striation etc:-)
