I think that most of these applications are more or less the same and none of them lets you create elaborate non-mock animations in a good amount of time.

I briefly tried ZBrush and Cinema 4D but I was overwhelmed with this software. :P Guess I'm a "still" type of person, excluding TG animations. 3DS MAX seems to be popular among animators as well.

I am frequently using DAZ Studio for human models and it has some additional component for animating people, which seems easy to use. I did not try it yet but I guess it might be as easy to use as the whole program itself. You also have some pre-defined movement chunks there that you can use. The trouble is that you can't merge a DAZ-made model animation into a TG animation (or can you?) So, you need to create whole environment from scratch in DAZ, because you could obviously use some setting... And TG is better for that, just like DAZ is better for creating people... Complicated.

I use Daz as well, and just found some BVH movement files, which are very handy to extract postures from. I think you can thus extract a series of posed objects to be imported in TG, but I'm a still person too. I just happened across that software and am curious whether it's of any interest.

Had not heart about it. A small Google search wasn't much encouraging.
Links are old mostly.

Can''t say for sure of course.
Try the demo if they have one first.

It's free anyway, so no demo needed. I am a bit reluctant to install too much software, but someone might have done this one before... hence my query.

No free trial? Ha! Surprise, surprise... ::)

I also thought about exporting pre-posed set of figures, but given the fact how many frames animation needs... Cumbersome as hell.

No, it's free, period.
