I have been there a few years ago for a bunch of days.
Nice to see it again from air and from some of the exact same pov's I had, like from the bamboo raft.
I think I might even have some photos which have quite the same pov as the shots in this video. Funny.
It's the area around Yangshuo/Guilin, in the Guangxi region of China.
It's hot there and utterly muggy. 40 degrees celsius and >95% humidity are rather rule than exception. It's crazy.
So I thought being smart by going to a cave, that's probably cooler! No it was even hotter. It's crazy.
Like everywhere in China they sell food and also in this hot cave they were preparing and selling food. It's crazy.
I remember walking up the Moon Hill (that arch at 1:19 in the video) in these conditions. It's crazy.
Then imagine old ladies doing this many times a day, loaded with water to sell to tourists. Also crazy
It's an ultra touristic area though and the people who work in tourism are quite friendly, but very keen on business.
Local people generally don't like you that much. In their eyes tourists are only bothering and obnoxious and they have a point.
If anyone ever considers travelling through China, which I can heavily recommend! then go to The Yellow Mountains.
Absolutely fabulous!
