But actually historically, it is not true that santa wears red because of coca-cola advertising. You can find many images of him dating from well before the invention of Coke where he is dressed in red. Coke was invented in 1886. Santa has been around a good bit longer. The major coke-santa adds started in the 1930s. And even then, the red suit of cokes santa was never coke red, it has a lot of orange in it.
