It doesn't appear to be an effective weight-loss supplement. It might be a source of roughage for the diet, though.

It's like kids eating glue. As a kid I tried eating Purina Dog Chow and actually liked it. But cat hair? It takes a mental skew to get into something like that. Human's rely on learning from others more than any other species. The source of such information can be any- and every-thing imaginable or imagined. Because they have so many "unnecessary" brain cells, a lot of us have a tendency to go off into the weeds so to speak.
