You can even hide the distance by fog, make it more eerie. perhaps a strange bulldozer in the fog, or some tree destroying huge ant (just rambling on

Cool Project.

I like 1&2 the best.
The closer your POV is to the ground the more powerful the nature seems to be.
Perhaps you can add some slim leafless trees and bushes? Not too much only some to demonstrate dimensions.

Yes more or less

I'd use even longer focal length (what is it now?) and really compress the perspective.
Then make sure you can't see the stumps in the far background, as they all fade away in the atmosphere/fog.
I think this will make for a nice abstract piece.

There are 3 populations in the pics...................there are 12 total in the download. I bought them on sale for less than 5 bucks so I could kinda reverse engineer for ST. Some of them are really strange looking...............stumps on steroids.

And I think y nailed it in the last one...love them stumps but not worth the 12 bucks to me....
