Modifications:) Its coming along, gonna try and get some of my Maya spacey probe .obj things into TG, Hopefully the mtl files etc will work correctly.

I like the second one already. Let's see, what will happen with the ground cover next.

I like both. The ground in the first is not as convincing as that in the second.  The POV is interesting in both and mist particularly good.

The second one is really impressing. One thing that could be improved imho is the ground texture. It seems a bit too lo-res compared to the rest. It's kind of blurred.

More grass and randomness and more detailed ground texture would help.
Some stones too maybe.

Better now, but I hope you don't mind my nagging  ;).
Compared to the very detailed, beautiful and well distributed plants the ground still looks a bit strange. To me the resolution is still not high enough. What about procedural texturing?
Just a thought...

Agree with Hannes and I liked ver2 best with the ground a bit more procedural/hires TEXTURING. Have you thought of using the Presets as a great way to start? And if you've a problem getting your Maya model(s) into TG I could run it/them through PoseRay for ya as I know y can't do that on a mac.....just ask.
