I think the texture looks better from a little distance.
The lower two ones need from that aspect a little more work if you ask me.

DOF suits well here. Although there are these nasty artifacts that occur when DOF is used together with GISD. I hope Matt will take care of this bug in the near future.

Maybe break the mushroom texture up with some sympathetically coloured power fractals?
