So, while waiting for the sun to set so I could start my DoF render I spied this 1937 Terraplane Coupe at sharecg and leapt at it...one of my fave autos of that era. The house is from tf3dm.com and the garage is from my trueSpace pal Basil. The hedge(Lilacs by Walli) which surrounds the whole property is controlled by a Painted shader, the grass is Ulco's and the tree is by mr_miley....thanks again Miles. The garage seems to need re-positioning and the finish on the Terraplane needs work upon reviewing...C&C welcome.....

Very very nice ! Great clouds too ! Only the concrete under the car needs more details.

Thanks David...Easy Clouds are my new best friend. Found the seed button to be my best friend there. Yeah, the concrete uses the Grey Stone preset and I meant to 'grease it up'...on the list....

might want to turn down the specular value on the gentleman's suit to remove the shininess.

This rendered while I was out at a bluegrass jam. I forgot to mention I used hetzen's cobbles .tgc in front of the door when I listed the contributions to my image earlier

Slick render, Bobby. I do have some ideas, if you want. First of all; much more dirt, on the house, ground (grass can have some of them leaves or branches or rubble). The front drive I would make some sort of tarmac (tiny fake stones, and some mixed 'blacks'. The large tree doesn't have a very nice bark texture. It's too big I suppose. You could grow some ivy to hide or use another texture or tree. And some pops of trees on them far hills?

Thanks Ulco, I was focusing initially on the Terraplane as I've been hunting one of those for a while but all your suggestions leapt to mind when I was looking at the final configuration and it's not too long a render so will have another run at it. Found a strange building I've filled with palm trees I'm rendering at the moment but tis but a time filler till I got a comment on this. Stay tuned....

That tree bark tex has been giving me DayMares all day and am about to give up on it; thinking of using Noble Tree, a nice Hero Tree

I am sure that is a way more complex model than I am used to, but on the tree, I agree the bark tex should be at least to 1/3 scale what it is now. I have no experience in that hard stuff, as the mapping gets complex with all the subdivisions for me. I do like the color and shape of the tree though! Good progress on this complete render too.

Dune

The easiest would be to replace the texture in TG with a finer texture. If the texture is so distinctive, you also get very obvious distinctions between trunk and branch, with finer that would be less. Add some final position dirt to it further refines it.

bobbystahr

I just replaced the tree with The Noble One and am very happy I remembered I had it. Been meaning to use it for maybe years now. At 7:24:59 rendertime I'm saying this is done...the house only has the one good angle due to an un remappable(by me) roof but I got the tex I wanted on the walls and if it was a much larger render you'd see cracking paint on all the trim and doors(also annoyingly one object)
